My last Bliss-ful day in Krabi.....

Good morning all from a beautiful and bustling Klong Moung beach.  So my last full day had arrived and this was all going to be about the beach, not the Beach beach, my beach....

Breakfast as usual by the sea but the tide was right in and the island and boats that I had been able to walk to were now surrounded by the most beautiful still blue waters, the stillest it had been all week and I gave my beach an altogether different feel.  Stunning.

So after breakfast I took another hour long walk to enjoy this different feel and it was beautiful, really quiet, even the locals seemed to be taking in the change.

Then it was back to my spot, by the swing under the ban yan tree, you know the one (the spot that someone else will be occupying tomorrow and I hope they enjoy it as much as me).  At 11am, I meandered back to the sunset bar to enjoy a mango an passionfruit smoothie and then it was back to my sunbed (riveting stuff, eh!?).

Next thing I knew it was 1pm and I was waking up with dribble on my face and the strange Russian couple sharing my ban yan tree.  Leave it.  Back to sunset bar for my lunch, and determined to eat my way through the menu before I go (thankfully it is not a huge menu) I decided on the delectable prawn and mango chilli jam salad thing and green curry rice.  Nom once again.

Back to the bed once again to watch the tide slowly recede and show the island and boats to the world again, until 4pm when I had a date with a pair of very strong forearms.....

Sadly, not the Norwegian Physiotherapist's (although we did have a chat and he came and sunbathed in front of me, making it easier for me to get another cheeky shot for the girls) but the Thai lady at the massage place on the beach.  And what another massage it was.  Full body Thai massage with coconut oil, I left the best till last. Those forearms and elbows took no prisoners again and she got my legs into positions that are only anatomically possible for a toddler to do, and I would not recommend trying at home.  And she climbed all over me, as they do.

Then I got one of my big toenails caught in the rush matting of the bed and I thought I was going to lose it.  But I hid it well, just like when the man at the garden centre in Adelaide trod on the same toes and snapped the nail in half, and I had to mop up the blood with an old envelope I found in my bag (bigfataussieadventure readers will remember that, or maybe not.....)  All that, with the sun starting to set and the cooling sea breeze washing over me for all under a tenner.  Incredible.  And with tomorrow being my last morning and the fact that I will probably never see the poor woman again, I have booked myself in for the world famous Thai foot massage to finish off my week here a treat.

But there is still a sunset and a last meal to eat.  I stayed in my spot, by the swing, under the ban yan tree, you know the one, for a long as possible, soaking up the atmosphere and then it was to my sunset bar for the last time.  Kept it simple but best, spring rolls with the Tom Yum soup, all washed down with a couple of Chang.  Helped her with some free advertising after telling 4 Brits to ditch their all inclusive European and Thai hotel buffet in favour of some true Thai cooking.  The owner was most grateful! She has only been open 4 months and doing really well, it really is a gem of place.

Now the Norwegian Physiotherapist had told me there was an Indian wedding taking place at the large hotel a way down the beach (he was off there, think he has a thing with a girl there) and as my meal ended the most spectacular firework display lit up the nights sky, and we all stood on the beach and watched entranced.  Then, to top it off, they let hundreds of Chinese lanterns go and that really was an incredible sight. I made a wish for all of us as they floated by, of into the inky black nights sky. A perfect way to end my time here.

Then a quick coconut, banana and lime smoothie and a little swing it was off for my last night dodging the crabs on my short walk up the beach to bed.

And what a lovely nights sleep it was too.  So here I sit, breakfast clattering below me and the day well and truly started, bags almost packed ready for my trip back to Bangkok.  But I have the foot massage yet and more pics to take so I will be back before I leave later, I promise.  Until then...
